Similarweb claims SOC 2 Type 2, SOC 3, and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 as its own certifications, while Semrush’s only certification of its own is PCI DSS Level 1, with every other data-center credential belonging to its hosts, AWS and GCP, instead. Neither vendor publishes FedRAMP, StateRAMP, GovCloud authorization, or a HIPAA business associate agreement as of 7 September 2026. Scope compared, criterion by criterion. Checked 7 September 2026.

Similarweb states it hosts in the United States, without naming a specific region or host, and claims SOC 2 Type 2, SOC 3, and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 as certifications of its own. FedRAMP, StateRAMP, GovCloud authorization, and a HIPAA business associate agreement are all absent from its pages as tested.
Semrush stores data in the US, across AWS and GCP, with no specific region named. The only certification it claims as its own is PCI DSS Level 1; SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, StateRAMP, GovCloud, and a HIPAA business associate agreement are all absent, and the data-center certifications that do exist belong to its hosts, not to Semrush.
Semrush collects and remits US sales tax itself, across twenty-four jurisdictions from one percent in Connecticut to fifteen percent in Chicago — though its Terms of Service call the price exclusive of tax while its FAQ calls it included. Similarweb’s Terms instead place every tax on the customer, quote fees tax-exclusive, and publish no state list, no economic nexus, and no dedicated tax page, describing itself as not an online-selling tool.
Similarweb itself states that below one hundred thousand monthly visits, its estimates lose their statistical validity. Semrush carries the opposite kind of gap: every traffic figure it reports stays an estimate too, with no conversion ever tied to it, and proving real revenue requires plugging in a first-party source instead.
Semrush keeps self-service to card only, opens check or wire to annual subscriptions at a threshold defined only as “depends on account value,” and reserves an actual invoice for a signed Order carrying one and a half percent monthly late interest. Similarweb publishes only two prices outright, Individual at ninety-nine dollars a month annually or a hundred twenty-nine dollars monthly, and Web Intelligence from a hundred twenty-five dollars a month; Business and Enterprise are quoted as Custom, invoiced at thirty days or prepaid self-serve, with no purchase order, ACH, or W-9 named either way.
Semrush’s Pro tier costs a hundred thirty-nine dollars and ninety-five cents a month, or one thousand four hundred eight dollars the first year annually, for five tracked sites and five hundred keywords. Similarweb’s bundle with SEO and site audit costs three hundred thirty-three dollars a month billed annually, for one seat and six months of history — a different shape of plan built around audience estimates rather than tracked keywords.
