Similarweb ships its interface in 4 languages — English, Chinese, French, and Japanese — while Ahrefs ships 15, including German and Spanish, and neither vendor states whether its English is the US or UK variant, or flags any screen left untranslated. Ahrefs also names sales tax explicitly on top of its US price, in a state list that includes Texas, New York, and Washington DC, while Similarweb’s Terms place every tax on the customer with no state or nexus ever named. Scope compared, criterion by criterion. Checked 7 September 2026.

Similarweb ships four interface languages: English, Chinese, French, and Japanese, with English set as the default. Nothing on the page says whether that English is the US or UK variant, and no screen is flagged as partially translated or left out of the count.
Ahrefs ships fifteen interface languages — English, German, Spanish, French, and others — with English again listed as a single entry, no US or UK distinction drawn. Partial translation and any excluded screen go unmentioned here too, on a page tested the same day.
Similarweb claims SOC 2 Type 2, SOC 3, and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 as certifications of its own, hosted in the United States with no region or host named. Ahrefs also places data in the US, on AWS, but its own SOC 2 is still only planned rather than issued, and FedRAMP, StateRAMP, GovCloud, and a HIPAA business associate agreement are absent from both.
Similarweb’s Terms place every tax on the customer, fees quoted tax-exclusive, with no state, no economic nexus, and no dedicated tax page published, describing itself as not an online-selling tool. Ahrefs instead adds sales tax on top of its listed US price, in a state list naming Texas, New York, and Washington DC, though the rest of that list was too illegible to count on the page tested.
Similarweb publishes only two prices outright, Individual at ninety-nine dollars a month annually or a hundred twenty-nine dollars monthly, and Web Intelligence from a hundred twenty-five dollars a month, with Business and Enterprise quoted as Custom; terms allow invoicing at thirty days or self-serve prepay, but no threshold, purchase order, ACH, or W-9 is named. Ahrefs opens non-card billing only at Enterprise, one thousand four hundred ninety-nine dollars a month on an annual commitment, with its help center naming invoice or wire and its pricing page naming only wire.
Similarweb’s bundle with SEO and site audit costs three hundred thirty-three dollars a month billed annually, for one seat and six months of history. Ahrefs’ Starter tier costs twenty-nine dollars a month, for two hundred credits and two hundred fifty rows per report — roughly a tenth of Similarweb’s bundle price, though the two plans are not measuring the same thing.
